Are you a student at Louisiana Tech looking to get research experience? The VDB lab is looking for committed undergraduate students who are interested in Space Biology and Plant Movement. The lab is currently looking at utilizing genetic techniques to understand how plants respond to light and gravity, and how that affects growth. This research is of specific interest to NASA, who is looking to how plants will grow long term on the Moon, Mars, or the International Space Station. If you are interested in conducting research, email me at [email protected] or stop by my office at 130 Carson-Taylor.

The Vandenbrink Lab is coming to Louisiana Tech University in September of 2018!
The research in the Vandenbrink (VDB) Lab focuses on Plant Movement and Space Biology. Specifically, we focus on how plants perceive and respond to light (phototropism) and gravity (gravitropism), as well as the interaction of these two movements. We are actively looking for students who want to conduct research in the lab, and help to lay the groundwork for future spaceflight experiments! If you are an undergrad or potential grad student interested in joining the lab, please contact me at [email protected]. |
